American Sign Language II (SLG102) 4 Credits

Continued development of knowledge and language skills for communicating with deaf people who sign. Includes numbers, fingerspelling, and culture. Emphasis on enhancement of receptive sign skills and continued development of expressive sign skills. Application of rudimentary, syntactical, and grammatical structure stressed with continued development of sign vocabulary. Prerequisites: SLG101 with a grade of "C" or better, or permission of Department or Division. Completion of prerequisites within the last three years is required.

Advanced American Sign Language skills including continued vocabulary. Emphasis on conversational techniques in a cross-cultural framework. Continued work on conceptual accurate signing of English idioms and words with multiple meanings. Prerequisites: SLG201 with a grade of C or better or permission of Department or Division. Suggested but not required ENG101 or ENG107, SLG200, and CRE101 or CRE111 or Reading test exemption. Completed prerequisites within the last 3 years are required.
