Introduction to Holocaust Studies (HUM245) 3 Credits

Introduction to the literature of the Holocaust. Provides brief theological, political and social background to establish the context of anti-Semitism, especially in 19th and 20th centuries, with particular attention to National Socialist ideologies. Emphasis on literature of the Holocaust, including fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry, much of which involves theological and moral debate. Includes analysis of supplementary performing and visual arts. Prerequisites: None. CRE101, or CRE111, or Reading exempt placement test score recommended but not required.
