Fundamentals of 2D Autocad (CAD100) 3 Credits

Utilize AutoCAD software to generate two-dimensional (2-D) drawings and components in a generic installation. Apply basic AutoCAD commands and properties to format, draw, edit, layer, dimension, import/export, and manage drawing files. Creation, manipulation, and hard copy production of 2-D drawing files from major AutoCAD command and display environments and plot options. Prerequisites: None.

Introduction to Revit Architecture. Utilize Revit software to develop and generate basic 3-D models and components. Create, edit, dimension, and manage 2-D and 3-D drawing views and projects. Produce drawing files and plots using various display environments and plot options. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in CAD100 or (previous architectural and CAD experience, and permission of Department or Division).

      Students will have access to a student version of Revit to download to their personal computer. A PC is recommended, and will require 4 GB RAM and 5 GB free disk space. A Mac will require you to activate your Boot Camp to run Revit. Computers are available in T1-107 and T1-108 Monday through Thursday during the summer, 8 am – 8:30 pm.
