      This two day, one night wilderness adventure is a "hands on" introduction to basic primitive living skills and wilderness survival. Students will learn friction fire making, wild edible plants indentification, primitive tool making, shelter building and primitive cooking. Beginning backpacking and hiking skills recommended, but not required. Students are responsible for their own gear and food. Transportation is provided.     • Class meets: May 1, 2014 - May 12, 2014 Paria Backpacking class is a five day, four night adventure hike through the narrows created by the Paria River, a tributary to the Colorado River. The 40 miles will begin near Page, Arizona and end at Lee's Ferry. Conditioning class PED103HK 18266 which meets in Spring 2014 is highly recommended, contact instructor for more information. Class fee of $66.00 covers permit, one night stay in lodge, and transportation. First class meeting is Thursday, May 1st at 7:00pm in P2. The $66 class fee is non-refundable after April 15, 2014.
