Students will spent 5 days and 4 nights living aboard a 55-foot Skipperliner houseboat on Lake Powell. Students will be True GRIT volunteers (with the National Park Service) working to remove graffiti and enjoying the spectacular scenery of Lake Powell. Students who successfully complete the course become Leave No Trace Trainers and receive a completion certificate through the LNT Center. Mandatory one-time orientation meets Mon., 5/8, 7-8 pm in PE-137. Date of the trip is Fri., 5/12 to Tues., 5/16. Course Instructor(s) are certified LNT Master Educators. This course is hands-on, held in the outdoors with overnight tent-style camping. Transportation and food included. Basic level of fitness and swimming is required. Learn and experience the use of essential oils for stress reduction, relaxation, deeper breathing, mental clarity, increased sports endurance, energy, muscle loosening, and much more. Topics also include ancient use of aromatics, extraction methods, safety and handling of essential oils, purity and selection of raw materials, numerous ways to use essential oils at home and work, their holistic benefits, making skin and body care products, and more.
