Emergency Medical Technology (EMT104) 9 Credits

Techniques of emergency medical care in accordance with national and state curriculum. Study of the human body, patient assessment, treatment of medically or traumatically compromised patients, special hazards, and medical operations, IV monitoring, patient-assisted medication administration, automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and blood-glucose monitoring. Practical and performance experience in various percussion styles. Percussion literature from a diverse number of world musical traditions. Western European art music, various African traditions, Indian music, Japanese music, Indonesian music, Mexican, Central, and South American music, and percussion compositions from the American Experimental Tradition rehearsed and performed.       Great introductory backpacking/hiking experience (mules are available to carry gear); must be in good condition for this beautiful hike to four world-class waterfalls (10 miles each way).
