Lyric Writing (MTC111) 1 Credit

Lyric writing and its relationship to song structure and rhythm. Emphasis on basic poetic forms, meter, rhyme schemes, analysis of song lyrics for content and clarity, and use of lyric writing tools. Prerequisites: None. Note: Basic note reading and/or music theory is advisable. MTC111 may be repeated for credit.

Introduction to Sound Design for Film and Video (MTC120) 3 Credits

Basic principles of recording and mixing sound for film and video. Includes voice-over, automatic dialog replacement (ADR), foley, ambience, special effects and music. Emphasis on analog and digital recording techniques in the field as well as in a controlled environment. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in (FMT100 and FMT136) or permission of Instructor.
